One Year of DRAW Together
Happy Anniversary! It has been one year since DRAW launched our first issue of the DRAW Together newsletter. This initiative would not have been possible without DRAW's dedicated former Project Manager, Rachel Black, who we introduced in our Autumn 2020 issue. Thank you, Rachel, for everything you have done for DRAW.
We have just launched a Slack channel where transcribers can ask questions and share any challenges they may be facing while transcribing. We hope that it will also be a new way for transcribers to engage with each other and find community! Send us an email at draw.archives@mcgill.ca to join.
After one year of our newsletter, we are wondering what you enjoy most from DRAW? Please choose one of the following options:
Newsletters
Blogs
Facebook
Twitter
Instagram
Something else? Send us an email at draw.archives@mcgill.ca and let us know!

On this Day
September 7th 1991: The most destructive hailstorm ever, and the second costliest storm in Canada hit the Calgary area at supper time, lasting 30 minutes and dropping 10-cm diameter hail. A record 116,000 insurance claims were filed by homeowners due to the split trees, broken windows and siding of homes in Calgary subdivisions. Property losses exceeded $300 million, making this a storm not to forget!

Website Highlight
In 2020, the DRAW Team launched a new space on the website: Educator's Corner. This space was meant to be a starting off point for educators or individuals interested in how to intersect historical weather rescue with school curricula.
Featuring a Teachable Timeline and dedicated pages to specific themes in weather (interested in Extreme Weather, or Floods? Check these pages out!), this space is an excellent point of discovery for all your weather teaching needs!
Be sure to check out DRAW's Curriculum book as well, targeted towards CEGEP level students. We're in the process of creating a second curriculum book as well so keep your eyes posted!
Explore the Educator's Corner here.

Un an de SAMuser Ensemble
Bon anniversaire!
